This month’s headline
Fairer Finance assessed four military insurance segments in June 2026 — personal accident, and budget, mid-range and high-end kit & contents. In all four segments, the only product rated “Great value” was an Absolute product.
How the ratings work
Fairer Finance is an independent consumer research organisation. It assesses every product in each market segment against the same framework: primary features (the core cover that matters most), secondary features, tertiary features, and fees, charges & excesses. Each product receives a features rank within its segment, a pricing rank, and an overall value indicator — Great value Reasonable value Could be improved. Scores are measured in quartiles against the whole market: a 1st-quartile score places a product in the top 25% of the market for that category.
All figures on this page — including every competitor figure — are taken directly from the June 2026 Fairer Finance fair value tables and the underlying Fair Value Reports, without modification.
