Absolute Military is a specialist insurance and financial services broker for serving personnel, veterans, reservists, MOD civilians and their families. We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, a proud holder of the MOD Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award, and a member of the British Insurance Brokers’ Association.

Kit and PA cover for personnel in training
This fund supports the wider military family through targeted sponsorships, donations and free cover. Free Kit and Personal Accident insurance has been provided to recruits progressing through training — with no strings attached on completion. Our commercial success directly funds non-commercial activities including financial education, unit-level development and wellbeing support.

As the government’s access ambassador for the insurance industry and a member of the Financial Services Consumer Panel, Johnny ensures that Absolute remains at the forefront of regulatory excellence and genuine consumer outcomes.
Absolute is a groundbreaking brand for military personnel, built on the DNA of a team who have served the military community for many years. As our community continues to grow — now encompassing over 16,000 military relationships — so too does our responsibility to lead with integrity. Our leadership team has transitioned Absolute from a start-up into a market leader while maintaining a social-first mission. Between them, they bring over 100 years of financial services experience — much of it dedicated specifically to HM Forces.

A leading national voice on consumer protection and financial inclusion. Serves as the government’s access ambassador for the insurance industry and a member of the Financial Services Consumer Panel. In 2026, Johnny has been instrumental in embedding the FCA’s Consumer Duty and the Armed Forces Covenant into the heart of Absolute’s operations, ensuring our growing community receives the highest standard of transparent service.
Steve Anderson
MANAGING DIRECTOR
With over 30 years in financial services — the last 13 dedicated exclusively to HM Forces — Steve’s vision was the catalyst for Absolute’s launch in 2020. He has been the driving force behind the Social Impact mission, overseeing a total annual community giveback of over £167,000 including £77,800 in free protection for serving personnel. By championing the Absolute Academy and the Army Training School App, Steve ensures technology and empathy remain central to Absolute’s support for the military family.
Paul O’Mahony
COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR
Paul brings a wealth of experience in operational leadership and regulatory compliance, having previously served as Managing Director of Abacus. As the architect of Absolute’s commercial framework, Paul has ensured that rapid scale has never compromised the commitment to the consumer. He has been instrumental in forging the “under one roof” strategy — partnering with specialists to provide comprehensive services from mortgages to investments that deliver genuine value and social responsibility.
